Traditional handcraft in my own workshop

My passion for silversmithing started in the 1990's. It feels like an eternity ago - and yet not. There is always more skills to learn in this trade.

My name is Maria Fors Östberg and I was born and raised in Malmö, a city in the very south of Sweden. In 2010 me and my family moved to Småland, to the magic county of forests and lakes. I am wrapped in peace and quiet and I get a lot of inspiration from the beautiful nature that surrounds me. I live in a red wooden house in the forest on the Swedish countryside. From here I create all my jewelry in my own smithy and workshop. My happy place. 

All my jewelry is made by hand in sterling silver. I want to believe that there is a place in this world for more genuine and handcrafted pieces of jewelry. Jewelry that take time to make. My ambition is to design and produce personal och timeless pieces of jewelry, for both women, men and children. The material I use is sterling silver but also details of gold, copper and brass. Silver is also beautiful with precious stones and pearls and I use them in my pieces. 

I also love words. Therefore, words, names and messages often appear on my jewelry.
